YAK & YETI RESTAURANT

Housed within the historic Ye Olde Bucks Head, this much-loved Shrewsbury building was given a new lease of life as Yak & Yeti, an Asian fusion restaurant celebrating the flavours and cultures of the Silk Road. The brief was to respect the character of the original building while creating a rich, immersive interior that reflected the boldness, warmth and vibrancy of the food.

Drawing inspiration from the textures, colours and craftsmanship found along the ancient trade routes, the interior layers deep jewel tones, handcrafted materials and atmospheric lighting to create an intimate dining experience. Existing timber beams and historic architectural features were carefully retained and celebrated, sitting alongside decorative tiling, bespoke joinery, plush upholstery and carefully curated artefacts. The result is a restaurant that feels both authentic and contemporary - a destination that honours the building's past while offering an entirely new experience for guests.
